Combining microreaction technology with a standardized chemical plant infrastructure for flexible and mobile production

  • Microreactors - compact, scale-able and modular high-performance equipment for continuous chemical processing
  • Evonik´s EcoTrainer - a mobile, standardized high-tech plant infrastructure
  • Combining both approaches in the EU project POLYCAT for an API synthesis step
  • Next steps and vision

CV:

Dr. Patrick Löb studied chemistry at Heidelberg University and received his PhD in 2000 in the field of organic chemistry. In 2001 he joined the Institut für Mikrotechnik Mainz GmbH (IMM), now Fraunhofer ICT-IMM, as scientific follow. His activities focus particularly on micro process engineering and the application of micro-structured components within organic synthesis. He coordinated the two EU projects CoPIRIDE and POLYCAT centered on novel production concepts including Evonik´s EcoTrainer. He is Deputy Head of the division Energy and Chemical Technology at Fraunhofer ICT-IMM in Mainz.
