More information:  Programme  Committee

The goal of the GeCatS Infoday is to discuss the state-of-the-art and the various facets of Digitalization – particularly of a currently scattered landscape of activities relevant to catalysis.

Digitalization and Digital Transformation are current trends finding their way into a wide range of applications in industry and academia. These trends are also expected to have a major impact on today´s workflows in research and development. It is expected that catalysis can strongly benefit from Digitalization, especially, if during a transformation process, the right steps and measures are taken. As a multidisciplinary discipline, bridging aspects of organic and organometallic chemistry, materials science, the chemistry of biological systems, and reaction and process engineering, catalysis is characterized by a plethora of data from the atomic to the process level – thus offering multiple levers where Digitalization can come into play.

The contributions of the Infoday by known experts in the respective fields are arranged around the topics:

-Digitalization: an industrial viewpoint

-New perspectives in theoretical chemistry by digitalization

-How to structure, analyze and deal with “big data”

-Closing the gap and creating loops between theory and practice

-Virtual materials and handling of experimental data related to characterization and performance tests

A panel discussion under the title:
“Digitalization in Catalysis: Opportunities, Challenges, Next Steps” gives the audience the  opportunity for an open exchange of opinions and views.
