9th Status Seminar Chemical Biology

21 - 22 January 2014
DECHEMA-Haus, Frankfurt am Main

More information:  Lecture programme  Poster programme

The 9th Status Seminar on Chemical Biology will again present cutting-edge research at the prolific interface of chemistry and biology. It will highlight research activities in Belgium, France, The Netherlands, and Germany. The programme consists of three sessions:

  1. Modern Medicinal Chemistry,
  2. Post-Translational Modifications,
  3. Glycobiology.

Please note: For organisational reasons the two Tutorial Workshops on Medicinal Chemistry preceding the conference had to be combined to one course:

21 January 2014

Tutorial & Case Studies in Modern Medicinal Chemistry
Kurt Ritter, Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH, R&D LGCR / Chemistry FF, Frankfurt/D
Henning Steinhagen,
Senior Vice President, Head of Global Drug Discovery, Grünenthal GmbH, Aachen/D

Participants already registered for the course on January 21st, 2014 will be informed, rebooked or reimbursed.

ChemBio

The Joint Working Group Chemical Biology is organising the scientific programme. It is a common initiative of the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA e.V.), the German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG e.V.), the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM e.V.), and the German Chemical Society (GDCh e.V.).

The members organise conferences (e.g. the annual "Status Seminar Chemical Biology"), workshops (e.g. chemoinformatics, data base usage, logistics of compound libraries), courses (e.g. assay development, hit evaluation, substrate management) and information sessions and networking opportunities. Further objective of the working group is to support the German ChemBioNet. It also supports efforts to initiate and sustain national and European interdisciplinary networks and research programmes in Chemical Biology.
