Ready for the job? Hands-on advice on job application and career entry for future engineers

How can I find the right company for me? In which fields are chemical engineers and process engineers working? What are my career opportunities? Answers to these and many other questions can be found at the Student and PhD Programme organized by the "creative young process engineers" ("kreative junge Verfahrensingenieure" (kjVi)) from September 26th-27th, 2011 in Berlin.

Beside guided company tours, workshops and presentations on job application and career entry, a special fair will be arranged with major chemical firms like BASF, Bayer Technology Services, Evonik, Lonza, L.U.M., Merck etc. Here young academics can get in touch with potential future employers on a personal level and make their first industry contacts.

Due to the limited number of participants, for some workshops an on-site registration is required. More information: or

The Student and PhD Programme is part of the 8th European Congress of Chemical Engineering and the 1st European Congress of Applied Biotechnology. From September 25th-29th, 2011, Berlin will be the focal point of European process engineering and biotechnology. About 800 lectures cover the complete range of current topics from simulation to plant design and safety technology and from systems biology to biorefineries. More than 3,000 participants from Europe and beyond are expected.
