NFDI4Cat: Orchestrating Catalysis Data for FAIR Principles

The NFDI4Cat initiative supports the digital transformation of catalysis research by providing practical tools, services, and training for the seamless integration of Research Data Management (RDM) according to the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). As part of the “Jahrestreffen Deutscher Katalytiker” conference program, NFDI4Cat invites researchers, industry professionals, and stakeholders in catalysis-related research to explore how digital tools and structured data workflows can strengthen collaborative and sustainable innovation. During this interactive session, participants will follow the journey of creating and implementing a Data Management Plan (DMP) - from planning to actionable application using the NFDI4Cat ecosystem. The session will cover tools such as the MetaPortal, Repo4Cat, Voc4Cat, CatCore, andothers that make managing, sharing, and reusing data easier and more effective.

By the end of the workshop, participants will get insights on how to:

• Create a machine-readable, actionable DMP.
• Discover suitable tools to support the implementation of your DMP and ensure it delivers real-world impact.
• Leverage NFDI4Cat tools to support daily research activities.
• Use and adapt the Voc4Cat structured vocabulary via the GitHub pipeline.
• Explore and query knowledge graphs (e.g., the NFDI4Cat MetaPortal or the abstract-KG from the Weimar 2026 conference) using SPARQL.
• Upload, share, and reuse data within Repo4Cat for greater transparency and collaboration.

Target audience

Researchers, industry professionals, and stakeholders in catalysis-related research looking to improve their research data management strategies, enhance collaboration, and leverage digital tools for sustainable research innovation. This workshop is offered as part of the “Jahrestreffen Deutscher Katalytiker” conference program, and every participant is kindly invited to join.
