Nominate your candidates for the Otto Roelen Medal!
In 2026, the 16th Otto Roelen Medal will be awarded to recognise an outstanding achievement in catalysis research. The DECHEMA and the German Catalysis Society (GeCatS) invite researchers and scientists to propose international candidates who have made significant contributions to this field, particularly in application-oriented research.
The Otto Roelen Medal is endowed with €5,000 and is generously sponsored by OXEA GmbH. Nominations will be assessed by the Expert Committee of the Otto Roelen Medal. The award will be presented during the GeCatS Party at the 59. Jahrestreffen Deutscher Katalytiker in March 2026, taking place in Weimar, Germany.
Nominations for the 16th Otto Roelen Medal can be submitted until 14 September 2025 at the latest.

All nominations must include a detailed justification for the nomination, the candidate’s CV, and a list of their publications and patents. It is also encouraged to provide exemplary publications in internationally recognized scientific journals and reference letters from industry professionals. Please note that self-nominations will not be accepted.
The Otto Roelen Medal was established in 1997 by Hoechst AG and is named in honor of the discoverer of hydroformylation. Originally focused on homogeneous catalysis, the prize is now open to international researchers in all areas of catalysis.
