International Workshop on New and Synthetic Bioproduction Systems

6 - 7 December 2012
Hotel Panorama Harburg, Hamburg-Harburg

New bioproduction systems include but are not limited to cell-free biosynthesis, artificial or integrated biosystems, protein complexes for scaffold and metabolic channeling, biosynthesis in nano-materials and microfluidic systems. The design and production of components (biobricks) and modules for these new and synthetic bioproduction systems are also within the scope of the workshop. Internationally renowned scientists and experts are invited to present an overview on research and development trends and will report on their latest work. In particular, the workshop aims to provide a forum for discussing the needs and challenges for technical realisation of new and synthetic bioproduction systems.

The workshop is jointly organized by the DECHEMA temporary working party "New Bioproduction Systems" and the Hamburg State Excellence Cluster "SynBio: Fundamentals of Synthetic Biological Systems".

Abstracts of posters can be submitted until November 28th, 2012
