At the 4th International Symposium on Multiscale Multiphase Process Engineering (MMPE), recent research progress on nano-, micro- and macro-scale aspects of multiphase process engineering will be presented and discussed. A strong emphasis is put on application-oriented research, bridging the gap between scientific findings and methodology and the requirements of industry.
Multiscale, multiphase processes occur in the chemical, pharma and food industry, but their understanding and modelling poses a challenge both to those who design and develop new processes and those who run them in the industry. Within the last decade remarkable progress has been made in nanotechnology, micro process engineering, numerical simulation and measurement techniques providing a deeper insight into an undiscovered world of multiscale phenomena. To discuss the tremendous effects of multiscale phenomena in multiphase process engineering, researchers, chemical and process engineers, chemists and data scientist will come together. Young scientists and students are especially encouraged to participate and become part of the vibrant expert network of MMPE.
The International symposium on Multiscale Multiphase Process Engineering (MMPE) is held biannually alternately in Germany and Japan and regular attracts more than 100 participants from all over the world.
