In commemoration of Professor Malcolm Lilly, one of the pioneers of biochemical engineering, the ESBES Board in 2000 decided to introduce an award to be presented to a promising young scientist or engineer working in the field of biochemical engineering during the ESBES symposium: the Malcolm Lilly Award.
This is the 7th symposium at which the award will be offered and on this occasion. PhD students and postdocs are invited to submit a one-page abstract for consideration to by 20 August 2012 at the latest. The abstracts will be reviewed by a jury and shortlisted candidates (up to 5) will be selected to present an oral lecture in a special session on Wednesday, 26 September 2012.
This prestigious award comes with a 1,500 EUR prize. The organizers thank DSM, Delft/NL for their generous sponsorship. The award ceremony will take place at the closing session of the conference.
