International Conference on Theoretical Aspects of Catalysis
The ICTAC-14 will take place from 26 June till 30 June 2012 on the Golden Tulip Beach Hotel Westduin, Vlissingen (Flushing), the Netherlands. It will be satellite meeting of ICC-15.

The ICTAC-14 (International Conference on Theoretical Aspects of Catalysis) will highlight progress in theoretical catalysis around themes related to reactive inorganic materials, as applied in heterogeneous catalysis or related systems.

The joined Dutch-Belgian local organization team is co-chaired by Rutger A. van Santen (Eindhoven University of Technology) and Michel Waroquier (Ghent University).

Registration will be open from September 1st, 2011. Initial program will be made known April 1st, 2011. Detailed information is available on website (starting November 2010): www.ICTAC14.org

Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis in Catalysis
The fourth International Symposium on "Calorimetry and thermal analysis in Catalysis", CTEC 2012 will be organized in Lyon (France) from June 27th to June 29th, 2012. The symposium will cover fundamentals and applications of calorimetry and thermal analysis in catalysis.

Taking into account the importance of thermal analysis methods (alone or coupled with other techniques) as a tool for catalysis and surface characterization, this symposium will provide opportunity for discussion of the most recent results in thermal analysis. Keynote lectures, communications and contributed posters will be presented.

Detailed information about the symposium is at http://calo.catalyse.cnrs.fr/CTEC2012/.

International Symposium on Catalysis for Clean Energy and Sustainable Chemistry CCESC-2012

The symposium will take place in Alcobendas, Madrid (Spain), June 27-29, 2012.

The symposium is aimed to serve as an encounter between scientist and industrialists with interest in the technological aspects of the newest catalytic processes connected with clean energy and sustainable chemistry.

Further information is available at CCESC-2012.

2nd International Symposium on Intermetallic Compounds in Methanol Steam Reforming
The high potential of intermetallic compounds in heterogeneous catalysis is increasingly recognized and is a very dynamically developing field. The meeting will cover the latest developments regarding synthesis, characterization and catalytic properties of intermetallic compounds, particularly in terms of the methanol steam reforming.

This symposium, organised within the framework of the COST action CM0904, will provide opportunity for discussion of recent highlights of the research related to the COST action. In addition, the symposium will be open for external contributors as well. Keynote lectures, communications and poster contributions will be presented.

The symposium will take place June 27-29, 2012 at Commundo Tagungshotel, Seidl-Kreuz-Weg 11, 85737 Ismaning. More information can be found soon on the COST action website www.methanol-to-hydrogen.eu.

Carbon in Catalysis
The conference on Carbon in Catalysis, Carbocat V, will be organized in Bressanone-Brixen (Italy) from June 28 to June 30, 2012. Bressanone-Brixen is about 240 km from Munich and is well-connected to Munich by train. Chairpersons are Siglinda Perathoner and Candida Milone (Univ. Messina), and Laura Prati (Univ. Milano).

The meeting will cover both fundamentals and practical applications of carbon materials for catalysis and will allow to present and discuss progress in areas such as the synthesis of novel structured carbon, characterization and modeling, carbon-based materials in catalytic reactions, carbon for clean and sustainable energy as well as new trends in carbon technologies for adsorption and environmental protection.
More information will be given on the website at http://carbocat2012.unime.it.

SynFuel Symposium
The SynFuel 2012 symposium will focus on different aspects of Alternative Clean Synthetic Fuels. In particular, this symposium would cover different processes on the basis on syngas in the context of GTL, BTL and CTL technologies (Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, synthesis of alcohols, DME synthesis and synthesis of substitute natural gas), syntheses using H2/CO2, methanol conversion to hydrocarbons (e.g. MTO) and coal liquefaction. Specific topics: Catalyst design, catalyst characterization, modeling, kinetics, process design and intensification.

The symposium will be held in Munich on June 29th and June 30th, 2012.
More information will be given on the symposium website at www.synfuel2012.org.

Advances in Catalysis for Biomass Valorization
The conference on "Advances in Heterogeneous Catalysis for Biomass Valorization" will be organized from July 8 to July 11, 2012 in Thessaloniki (Greece) by the Greek Catalysis Society and will be chaired by Profs. Angeliki Lemonidou and Xenophon Verykios.

The goal is to cover fundamental and applied catalysis in biomass conversion to fuels and chemicals, new trends and advances in catalytic materials (synthesis, characterization), as well as mechanistic insights and engineering aspects in novel biomass conversion processes. More information is available on the conference website at www.cat4bio2012.gr.

In situ Spectroscopy and Model Catalysis
Saturday, July 7th, 2012

The Workshop on "In situ Spectroscopy and Model Catalysis" will be held on July 7th 2012 at Kloster Andechs (near Munich).

http://www.andechs.de/kloster-andechs.html

The meeting is intended to reflect the current status of modern research of functioning catalysts and is organized as an intense one-day meeting at a beautiful and stimulating location.

Apart from the scientific program there will be ample time for discussions during the breaks. Details on registration, abstract submission and local transport is available at
