The DECHEMA Research Institute sees itself as an instrument of the scientific work of DECHEMA e.V.. The Institute has a staff of approx. 60 who are involved in
- Basic and preindustrial research in Chemical Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Technology, Chemical Engineering and Materials Sciences
- Teaching activities at German universities in the fields mentioned above
- Continuing education courses for participants from industry and universities
- Scientific support for DECHEMA´S Technical Committees, Working Parties and conferences
- Development of solutions to industrial problems
