You can now submit nominations for the Jochen Block Prize and the Otto Roelen Medal. The awards are endowed with prize money of 3,000 and 5,000 Euros respectively and are aimed at scientists working in the field of catalysis. The prizes will be awarded at the Jahrestreffen Deutscher Katalytiker in Weimar in March 2024.
The Jochen Block Prize of the German Catalysis Society (GeCatS) aims to promote young scientists. Proposals for the prize, which is endowed with 3,000 Euros, can be submitted until 22 September 2023.
The prize is awarded for research work and developments by young scientists in the field of catalysis who have not yet been appointed to a full professorship and are generally not older than 40. In addition, their work should cover fundamental research in catalysis and be distinguished by originality.
The prize is sponsored by Clariant and is named after the founding member and first chairman of the DECHEMA Catalysis Section.

Scientists who have made outsatnding achievements in the field of application-oriented catalysis research can now be nominated for the Otto Roelen Medal, which is endowed with 5,000 Euros.
The Otto Roelen Medal will be awarded for the 15th time in 2024. DECHEMA and the German Catalysis Society (GeCatS) invite researchers and scientists to nominate international candidates who have made significant contributions in this field, especially with regard to application-oriented research. The Otto Roelen Medal is sponsored by OQ Chemicals GmbH.
The Otto Roelen Medal was established in 1997 on the initiative of Hoechst AG and is named after the discoverer of hydroformulation. Originally announced only for homogeneous catalysis, the award is now open to all areas of catalysis.
The deadline for submissons is 22 September 2023. Self-nominations are not accepted. For more information: https://dechema.de/en/OttoRoelen2024
