Electrolysers used for hydrogen production rely on a variety of strategic, and in some cases, critical raw materials. With the market ramp-up of a green hydrogen economy, a sustainable solution for the management of the parts, components and raw materials used in the sense of a circular economy must be developed. The implementation of a digital tool for managing material flow information is key to making data across the entire value chain transparent and accessible. Different requirements, objectives and needs require a joint dialog for the successful implementation of circular strategies. Access to information from all areas of the value chain is necessary for reuse, repair and recycling, for example. This is where digital transformation plays a key role: the efficient handling of material flow information is a key to synchronizing material flows and creating closed loops.

During the workshop, we will focus particularly on the requirements and potential of a digital material flow information management tool. Key user requirements for a digital information management tool will be developed, and we will discuss which functions and features are essential to meet the diverse needs of users. The focus will be on aspects such as data protection, user rights, interfaces to Industry 4.0 and AI, as well as the practicality for different user groups. Finally, criteria will be established to define an effective digital material flow information management tool, which should be considered as a target value in the development of such tools.

We look forward to discussing this with various stakeholders from both science and industry during the workshop.
