This year´s Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering will be held in Frankfurt. It offers scientists from industry, research institutions and universities the opportunity to discuss their work, learn about the latest developments and expand their network in person.
The detailed understanding of the processes within chemical reactors is key to innovation in modern industrial production. Developments in modern reaction engineering are nowadays used in chemical production, but also in neighboring areas of pharmaceutical production, energy supply, conversion, storage, materials science and many other fields of modern industrial society. Reaction engineering is contributing to the development of efficient, sustainable products, processes and services.
The meeting is organized by the DECHEMA Subject Division Reaction Engineering in cooperation with VDI-GVC.
We welcome contributions from all areas of reaction engineering. Additionally, we have chosen three focus topics for the annual meeting in 2023:
The broad use of research data in academic and industrial research represents an outstanding opportunity. With the NFDI initiative, the German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the development of standardized tools for handling and analyzing large research datasets. Reaction engineering will benefit from this, if the tools will be used to a broad extend in the scientific community.
This subject is closely related to the second focus topic, which are new tools for developing models of complex reaction kinetics and novel approaches for their parameterization.
The third key topic will be the development of processes for the use of new, sustainable raw materials for chemical production and the essential contribution made by reaction engineering, which will make it possible to create new viable value chains.
Due to the international orientation of our meeting, presentations are held in English.
Three plenary lectures given by renowned scientists from industry and academic institutions, a poster party and a conference dinner will provide the framework for stimulating discussions and talks. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Frankfurt.
