At the Himmelfahrtstagung on Bioprocess Engineering 2022, we will take a detailed look at bioprocesses focusing on sustainability to foster bioeconomy.

Registration is possible up to the beginning of the conference (subject to capacity in the lecture rooms). You will receive an email with a booking confirmation as well as hyperlinks to download your invoice and payment confirmation as PDF files.
The registration fees include beside the conference ticket, the online book of abstracts and a list of participants. The printed programme brochure will be handed out on-site.
Editorial deadline for list of participants is 2 May 2022.
Cancellations are only accepted in writing (i.e. by fax, surface mail or e-mail).
Please find details about cancellation dates and fees in the general terms and conditions. In case of no-show the conference fees won't be refunded and fees not yet paid still have to be paid.

On 22 May 2022, the traditional pre-dinner meeting takes part. This get-together has established itself as the kick-off meeting of the "Himmelfahrtstagung".
Join us at 19:00 in the restaurant Zum Babbelnit, Kurmainzstraße 22 , 55126 Mainz-Finthen.
The restaurant is in 10 minutes walking distance to the Atrium-Hotel.
The costs are not included, you have to pay on-site.
On 24 May 2022, the scientific award ceremony will take place on board of the chartership MS Godesburg. The ship goes from Mainz to Eltville or Rüdesheim and will return to Mainz at 22:30. Be sure, the evening on river rhine becomes an extraordinary event.
The costs for food, beverages and transfer on this evening are included.

In the context of the “Himmelfahrtstagung 2022” a pre-conference workshop for PhD-students will be organised on the 22nd May.
The ultimate goal of metabolic and biochemical engineering is to create novel products and bioprocesses for commercialisation. Whereas scientific and technical aspects are typical matters of training programs in universities, the sensitive steps of launching a product, which includes transferring technology from labs to production sites, are rarely addressed.
The workshop deals with this scenario by treating the show case of a cephalosporin antibiotic compound. Students will learn what the key questions are and how actions should be structured to make the novel product a success. Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis

Dear lecture and poster authors, please note: Registration fee cannot be waived for authors. Please use the online registration.
If you are unable to present your lecture for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible.
The official language of the conference is English. Simultaneous translation will be not available.
A brief CV questionary enables the appropriate chair person to introduce all lecturers to the audience. Therefore lecturers are asked to download the CV form and to return it to the conference office until 29 April 2022.
The ideal format for the presentation is 16:9. A notebook (MS Office 2016, Adobe Acrobat Reader) and a wireless presenter will be provided. Please bring your presentation slides as PowerPoint or PDF-File on a USB stick. Nevertheless we kindly ask you to bring your own laptop computer as a backup.
In case that you need internet /special software for your presentation or if you have videos included into your file, please notify the conference secretariat in advance.
The abstract (incl. figures) should be typed single-spaced (12 pt Arial font, 2.5 cm margins, page size DIN A4) and should include the title, authors, their affiliations plus city and country.
Please insert no headlines or page numbers. Before uploading the abstract please deactivate the correction mode in MS Words.

Strict timekeeping will be essential for the smooth running of the conference. We suggest to use a minimum font size of 24 pt for your presentation slides.
As a major guideline it is proposed to make the poster intelligible in itself, even in the absence of the author. It is suggested to divide the content of each poster into introduction, results and conclusion, with a summary listing the pertinent results and conclusion.
The poster should be legible from a distance of 2-3 meters. Standard size for posters is 0.85 x 1.2 m (DIN A0 German Standard) vertically oriented. Therefore, please find the following specifications:
The posters will be shown throughout the whole conference. Please hang up your poster at the beginning of the meeting on 23 May 2022.
