The Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering together with the Annual Meeting of the ProcessNet Subject Division Heat and Mass Transfer will again be held as a physical event, offering scientists from industry, research institutions and universities the opportunity to discuss their work in person, learn about the latest developments and expand their network. The meeting in 2022 is jointly organized by the ProcessNet Subject Divisions Reaction Engineering and Heat and Mass Transfer.
Heat and mass transfer together with chemical conversion processes have to be understood in detail by chemists and chemical engineers to be able to select and design efficient and commercially viable reactor concepts as well as heat and mass transfer equipment. Thus, one focus of the upcoming meeting will be laid on new insights into the complex interplay of heat and mass transport and reaction kinetics in chemical reactors.
This is closely related to the second focus of the annual meeting, which will be on reactor as well as heat exchanger diagnostics. Time- and spatially-resolved analysis of flow, temperature and concentration fields as well as the properties of solid materials, supported by increasingly detailed multi-scale modeling, has made amazing progress in recent years.
The third focus is on the electrification of chemical processes, which will become increasingly important due to the steadily rising share of electricity generation using solar and wind energy and the desire to achieve a climate-neutral society in Germany by 2045.
Due to the international orientation of our meeting, presentations are held in English.
Four plenary lectures given by renowned scientists, a poster party and a conference dinner will provide the framework for stimulating discussions and talks. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Würzburg.

Registration is possible, subject to capacity in the lecture rooms, up to the beginning of the conference. You will receive an email with a booking confirmation and hyperlinks to download your invoice and payment confirmation as PDF files.
The registration fees include a conference ticket, a book of abstracts (PDF), a list of participants and food & beverages during coffee and lunch breaks as well as during the poster party. The printed conference programme will be handed out on-site.
Editorial deadline for list of participants is 1 July 2022.
Cancellations are only accepted in writing (i.e. by fax, surface mail or e-mail).

The conference dinner will take place in the beer garden of Würzburger Hofbräukeller.
If the weather does not allow us to sit outside, we can take a seat in the wintergarden. The location is very spacious and well ventilated due to completely opened glass doors with connection to the beer garden.
They provide delicious beer from the own brewery, Franconian wine and also refreshing alcolholfree beverages. We will choose a buffet dinner to meet the taste of every participant (also vegetarian and vegan options will be available). There will be also some entertaining live music during the dinner. The Conference Dinner will give you the opportunity to meet all colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere to continue your discussions and increase your network.
The dinner ticket is 65,00 €. All food and beverages are included in the price.

The official language of the conference is English. Simultaneous translation will be not available.
A brief CV questionary enables the appropriate chair person to introduce all lecturers to the audience. Therefore lecturers are asked to download the CV form and to return it to the conference office until 6th May 2022.
A video projector and a notebook (MS Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3) will be provided. Please bring your lecture presentation as PowerPoint or PDF-file on a USB stick. Nevertheless we kindly ask you to bring your own laptop computer as a backup.
In case that you need internet/special software for your presentation or if you have videos included in your presentation, please inform the conference office in advance.
Each lecture is planned for a duration of 20 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion.
Strict timekeeping will be essential for the smooth running of the conference.
For preparing your power point presentation please use the slide size 16:9.
We suggest to use a minimum font of 24 pt for your presentation slides.
As a major guideline it is proposed to make the poster intelligible in itself, even in the absence of the author. It is suggested to divide the contents of each poster into introduction, results and conclusions, with a summary listing the pertinent results and conclusions.
The poster should be legible from a distance of 2-3 meters. Standard size for posters is 0.85 x 1.2 m (DIN A0-German Standard) vertically oriented. Therefore, please find the following specifications:
