High performance batteries are urgently needed at affordable costs.

The widespread use of electrically powered vehicles will be one key to expanding the reach of renewables and speeding the transition to a carbon-free future of mobility.

However, there is still a long way to affordable and widely available high-performance batteries.

One key issue on this way is to understand electrically active interfaces for batteries.
