Due to the current developments regarding the Corona virus and in consultation with the chairmen, we unfortunately have to cancel the conference "Jahrestreffen Reaktionstechnik 2020 − Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering" from 18-20 May in Würzburg.
Unfortunately, there will NOT be an alternative date this year. The next Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering (Jahrestreffen Reaktionstechnik) will be conducted from 10-12 May 2021.
This year’s NaWuReT Career Forum hosts a speed networking event on the first day of the conference (Monday, 18 May at 3:20-4:30 pm).
Conference participants from academia and industry gather together to exchange information about job opportunities, professional background and business goals. We will apply the Round Robin model, where participants meet each other sequentially in random pairings in a set time period of four minutes. After that, you change position to the next space.
As a young professional or PhD student, you will have the chance to meet individually employees from industry. Confirmed participants from industry are BASF, Clariant, Covestro, Evonik, Fluitec, and Reacnostics.

One of the highlights of this year´s conference will be the conference dinner. We will go by bus to Volkach, a romantic wine village with beautiful vineyards.
At first we will make a short vineyard walk at Terroir "F" (ca. 30 minutes). When we will have arrived in Volkach, there will be a reception at the festival hall. Later we will have buffet dinner and the band Schwarzier Buam will create a jolly atmosphere and animate you to dance.
There will be shuttle buses from Festung Marienberg Würzburg to Volkach, leaving 17:20. At 22:00 and 23:00 the buses will go back to Würzburg.
All food & beverages as well as transfer are included. Space is limited to 180 participants.
Please book the dinner directly with your conference ticket or as a seperat ticket until 2 weeks prior to the conference at the latest.
Renowned plenary speakers from university and industry will address current topics from modelling and simulation to surface reaction technology, metallurgical processes and polymer reaction engineering.
In addition to the lecture programme, a poster party and a conference dinner set the scene for inspiring discussions and conversations.
Dear lecture and poster authors, please note: Registration fee can not be waived for authors. Please register until 27 March 2020.
If you are unable to present your lecture/poster for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible via Email.
The official language of the conference is English. Simultaneous translation will be not available.
A brief CV questionary enables the appropriate chair person to introduce all lecturers to the audience. Therefore lecturers are asked to download the CV form and to return it to the conference office by 24 April 2020
A video projector and a notebook (MS Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3) will be provided. Please bring your lecture presentation as PowerPoint or PDF-file on a USB stick. Nevertheless we kindly ask you to bring your own laptop computer as a backup.
In case that you need internet/special software for your presentation or if you have videos included into your file, please inform the conference office in advance.
Each lecture is planned for a duration of 20 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion.
Strict timekeeping will be essential for the smooth running of the conference.
For preparing your power point presentation please use the slide size 16:9.
We suggest to use a minimum font of 24 pt for your presentation slides.
As a major guideline it is proposed to make the poster intelligible in itself, even in the absence of the author. It is suggested to divide the contents of each poster into introduction, results and conclusions, with a summary listing the pertinent results and conclusions.
The poster should be legible from a distance of 2-3 meters. Standard size for posters is 0.85 x 1.2 m (DIN A0-German Standard) vertically oriented. Therefore, please find the following specifications:
Poster exhibition takes place throughout the whole conference. Please hang up your poster at the beginning of the meeting on Monday, 18 May from 12 o'clock.

The Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering is a well established conference with yearly 220-240 participants. It offers scientists from industry, research institutions and universities the opportunity to discuss their work, learn about latest developments and expand their network.
One focus of the upcoming meeting will be on research for the future circular economy. Establishing sustainable conversion processes for the chemical, food and pharma industry is one of the pressing needs of our time. Reaction engineering can contribute to preventing the exhaustion of critical resources and avoiding unnecessary waste generation. However, truly sustainable processes can only be achieved by closing the loop in production cycles and utilizing waste streams to create new products. Solving these challenges requires the implementation of innovative and efficient technologies by utilizing the reaction engineering toolbox.
The conference particularly aims to motivate young academics and young professionals from industry to contribute to this event. The programme will favour their engagement and give space for new and innovative topics.
