Biological barriers within the human body are a pivotal prerequisite for life.
On the other hand, these barriers such as epithelia, endothelia and cell membranes also represent a significant obstacle. Thus, the efficient and safe delivery of a drug from the site of administration to the site of action can often be considered a relevant scientific and technological challenge.

On 9-11 November 2015, Crossing Biological Barriers – Advances in Nanocarrier Design for Targeted Drug Delivery will take place in the beautiful city of Dresden. The international conference will address the latest developments in nanocarrier-based targeted drug delivery
systems, specifically designed to overcome biological barriers. Oral presentations will be accompanied by a large poster session. The event will connect academic and industrial players, creating synergies between different disciplines. The single-stream mode of the conference will provide you with the chance to follow every talk, thus maximising your participation at this
meeting. This innovative event is jointly organised by the European Projects TRANS-INT, COMPACT and ALEXANDER, all three dealing with cutting-edge nanomedicine drug delivery topics. Be part of this conference and submit your contribution now. The Scientific Committee is looking forward to welcoming you in Dresden.

Session Topics

1. Overcoming Biological Barriers: Molecular, Biological and Mechanistic Issues
2. Targeted Drug Delivery Systems
     2.1 Oral Delivery
     2.2 Ocular Delivery
     2.3 Pulmonary Delivery
     2.4 (Trans) Dermal Delivery
2.5 Blood Brain Barrier Crossing Systems
3. Biodistribution and In Vivo Imaging of Nanoparticles
4. Scale-up, Translational and Regulatory Issues of Drug Delivery Systems

The selection of the presentations (orals and posters) will be based on the review of 1-page abstracts (incl. figures) by the Scientific Committee.

Please use our  English Abstract Template, because English will be the Congress language. The abstracts should explicitly mention objectives, new results, and conclusions or significance of the work. Abstracts should be submitted via file upload untill 1 June 2015 at:

THE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS ALREADY CLOSED
